State Council Chairman underscores the high value Royal Speech of His Majesty at meeting with Arab Parliament speaker

HE.Dr.Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al-Manthri, Chairman of the State Council, received here today Dr.Mishaal bin Fahm Al Salami, Speaker of the Arab Parliament and his accompanying delegation.
 
HE.Dr.Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al-Manthri  welcomed Dr.Mishaal bin Fahm Al Salami, noting the important role played by the Arab Parliament to promote joint Arab action and its contribution to defending the Arab nation's causes in international parliamentary forums. He wished success for the efforts of the Arab Parliament to achieve further progress in strengthening Arab solidarity.      
 
 
Stressing  the Sultanate's keenness to actively participate in the work and activities of the Arab Parliament through its various organs and committees, he pointed out to  the cooperation between the Council of Oman and the Arab Parliament, which comes within the framework of the Sultanate's interest to enhance solidarity between Arab countries and support common action.
 
 
His Excellency said that His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, confirmed in the first Royal Speech, the continuation of support to the League of Arab States to facilitate achievement of its goals, as well as distance the region from conflicts and differences and work for economic integration to serve the aspirations of the Arab people. This is in accordance with the approach of the late Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed bin Taimur.
 
The Council Chairman addressed the Royal speech presented by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq - May God bless him and his patrons - on Sunday. He noted the high value text and its noble meaning as he defined the march of national action and emphasized on the progress of development and the need to sustain the march of the blessed renaissance, in the purview of the State of law and Institutions, based on the principles of freedom, indiscrimination and equal opportunities.
 
He pointed out that the Royal Speech underscored the role of young people as the wealth of the nation and an inexhaustible resource in national development, as well as ensuring that women enjoyed all rights guaranteed by law.
He said that His Majesty's speech emphasized on the progress of the education sector spanning all levels, to provide a supportive and stimulating environment for scientific research and innovation, in recognition of the importance of this in promoting the overall development witnessed by the Sultanate in all fields.
 
During the meeting, the State Council Chairman and the   Arab Parliament speaker reviewed ways to develop cooperation between the State Council and the Arab Parliament and addressed topics of interest.
 
For his part, Dr. Mashal bin Fahm al-Salami, expressed his happiness to visit the Sultanate, expressing his confidence that the Sultanate will continue the march of progress and prosperity under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq  - May God bless him and his patrons - on the path of the late Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed bin Taimur. 
 
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament noted the Sultanate's support for joint Arab action and its active participation in the work of the Arab Parliament through the representation of the State Council and Majlis A’Shura, praising in this context the competence and excellence of the representatives of both the Councils and their valuable contribution to improving its performance.
He reviewed the efforts of the Arab Parliament to strengthen solidarity among Arab countries, pointing to the approval of the document, presented at the 30th Arab Summit held in Tunis last March and stressed on the importance of finding mechanisms and institutions that work to support Arab solidarity.
The meeting was attended by Hon.Dr Badriyah bint Ibrahim bin Khalfan al Shuhiyah-Vice Chairperson of the State Council, Hon.Dr.Al Sheikh Al Khattab Ghalib Ali Al Hinai- State Council Vice-Chairman, Hon.Dr Hassan bin Ali bin Mohammed Al Mad’hani- State Council member and member of the Arab Parliament, Hon.Shaikh Ali bin Nassir bin Hamad Al Mahrouqi,  member of the State Council and  member of the Arab parliament, Said Hamed Hilal Al Saadi, Vice Chairman of Majlis A’Shura and member of the Arab Parliament, in the presence of the delegation accompanying Dr.Mashal bin Fahm al-Salami, President of the Arab Parliament.
