State Council Vice-chairperson receives EU delegation

Hon.Dr.Suad Mohamed Ali Sulaiman Al Lawati, State Council Chairperson received on Tuesday, the European Union delegation led by Roberto Storaci, Chairman of the European Union Working Group of the Middle East and the Gulf, which is currently visiting the Sultanate.
 
Dr.Suad warmly welcomed the delegation and hoped that their visit to the Sultanate would be successful.
 
During the meeting, the Chairperson of the Council presented the delegation with a brief about the State Council, its powers and responsibilities.
 
She reviewed the stages of the Omani Shura march in order to promote popular participation in decision-making and adoption of best parliamentary practices to contribute to this end.
 
The Vice-Chairperson expressed the achievements of the Omani women and the successes achieved in all scientific and practical fields, pointing out in this regard the active role played by women in the State Council in particular and parliamentary work in general with the supreme support of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. 
 
During the meeting, they reviewed areas of cooperation and issues of mutual interest.
 
For his part, the Chairman of the Middle East and Gulf Working Group of the European Union expressed his happiness and his accompanying delegation to visit the Sultanate, expressing his admiration for the developments in all fields. 
 
He also expressed his pleasure to visit the State Council and get acquainted with its devices.
 
At the end of the visit, the 26-member delegation of the European Union's working group in the Middle East and the Gulf toured the council building and were briefed about its facilities and technical infrastructure. 
 
The delegation also viewed the film about the State Council. 
 
The meeting was attended by Hon. Ahmed bin Sulaiman bin Saleh Al Maimani and Hon. Eng. Nashia Bint Saud Bin Mohammed Al Kharousia.
