State Council to discuss role of education in knowledge economy

The 11th and 12th Regular session will discuss proposals on enhancing the role of education in supporting the knowledge-based economy as well as the proposals of Culture, Information and Tourism Committee on public and private libraries, and their social role.
The State Council will hold on Tuesday and Wednesday the 11th and 12th regular sessions of the second annual sitting of the sixth term, chaired by HE.Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Manthri, Chairman of the State Council. The proposals for enhancing the role of education in supporting the knowledge-based economy will be among the issues discussed by the State Council at its coming sessions. It will discuss the proposals of Culture, Information and Tourism Committee on public and private libraries, as well as their social role. Additionally, it will discuss the proposals of Culture, Information and Tourism Committee public and private libraries, as well as their social role. It will approve minutes of the 10th ordinary session of the 2nd annual sitting of the 6th term and discuss the proposal of the education and research committee on the study about empowering researchers at the academic and research institutions and linking them to business and industrial organisations in the Sultanate. It will also review the report of the Secretariat General on the activities between the 10th and these two session. The reports presented by honorable members of the council and the report of the Parliamentary Friendship Committee between the State Council and the Jordanian Senate Council and on its visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from April 9th to 13th 2017 and the recommendations of the Oman 1st Environmental Forum will be reviewed.
