The students of Al Walaja Primary School for Girls today visited the State Council to gain information about the Council’s role, powers and mechanism.
The students of Al Walaja Primary School for Girls today visited the State Council. The visit enabled them to gain information about the Council’s role, powers and mechanism.
The students viewed a presentation that highlighted the tasks and responsibilities assigned to the Council, delivered by Hanan Bint Saif Al Yazidi, Head of Meetings Management Section, and Department of Economic Committee Affairs.
It dealt with the definition of the Council of Oman, its role and importance. It also addressed the provisions of the State Council as per the Basic statute, which stipulates the number of members of the Council, the conditions of membership, and the difference between the State Council and the Majlis Ash’shura in terms of terms of reference, membership and powers, procedure of processing the draft laws.
The students also learned about the organizational structure of the council, its activities and achievements, and its main organs.
Hanan answered the students’ queries. The visit concluded after a tour of the premises and facilities.
