State Council Chairman receives Governor of Lamu: Discuss strengthening of ties

The State Council Chairman, H.E Dr.Yahya Bin Mahfoudh Al Manthri, received Issa Abdullah Al Tamami, Governor of Lamu, Kenya and his accompanying delegation.   
Today, the State Council Chairman, H.E Dr.Yahya Bin Mahfoudh Al Manthri received Issa Abdullah Al Tamami, Governor of Lamu, Kenya and his accompanying delegation at the Council premises. He warmly welcomed the visitors, wished them a pleasant stay, and hoped the visit would accomplish the desired objectives and praised the good relations that link the Sultanate and Kenya, particularly political, cultural and economic. Adding further H.E Dr.Yahya Bin Mahfoudh Al Manthri said, “Oman has with Kenya close historical and cultural linkages. Such mutual visits contribute substantially to strengthen these relationships and expand the avenues of cooperation and benefit the common interests of people of these two friendly countries.” H.E. Dr.Yahya highlighted the role of the Council of Oman in the consolidation of state institutions in the Sultanate by carrying out its functions and its vested legislative and oversight powers. On his part, Issa extended his appreciation for the warm welcome. He hoped the cooperation would reach newer heights and enable boosting of ties. He noted the depth of relations between the two friendly countries, and reaffirmed their keenness to advance it and stated that many commonalities exist between the two friendly nations. He commended the highly dynamic role of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said in establishing peace and stability in the region and admired the progressive state achieved by the Sultanate, which is evident from the visible and tangible development in all areas. Hon.Dr Al Sheikh Al Khattab Ghalib Ali Al Hinai, Vice Chairman of the Council, several honourable members and Dr Hamad Bin Mo-hammed Al Dhoyani, Chairman of the National Records and Archives Authority (NRAA), attended the meeting.
