At the beginning of the meeting, the committee was briefed on the Law promulgated by Royal Decree No. 114/2001 and the related laws, as well as the study on the Marine pollution control Law. 

The sub-committee emanating from the Social Committee of the State Council, tasked to review “The Law on the Conservation of the Environment and prevention of Pollution” held today, its first meeting for the first annual session of the seventh term, headed by Hon.Salim bin Khuwaiter bin Nassir al Maqbali, the head of the committee, in the presence of the honorable committee members, and a number of Secretariat staff.

At the beginning of the meeting, the committee was briefed on the Law promulgated by Royal Decree No. 114/2001 and the related laws, as well as the study on the Marine pollution control Law. 

The committee reviewed the points that will be focused on while reviewing the law, including: powers, penalties and the comprehensiveness of the law, in addition to legal drafting, the committee discussed the identification of the hosts and entities for hosting.

The committee also approved its schedule to discuss the issue.

At the end of the meeting, the committee was briefed on new issues on its agenda, and took appropriate decisions.
