H E Futaisi and H E Hassan discuss cooperation in key areas with Pakistani delegation

The Minister of Transport and Communications, H.E.Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Futaisi, received Senator Mir Kabeer Ahmed Muhammad Shahi, head of the Pakistani side of the Omani-Pakistani Friendship Committee and his accompanying delegation today.
 
Al Futaisi noted the close relations and areas of cooperation between the Sultanate and Pakistan. He briefed the guests about the currently implemented major strategic projects by the Sultanate’s government within the current five-year plan, such as airports, railways, ports and logistic services.
In addition, he highlighted the significant shift in the transport and communications sector in the Sultanate through the expansion of the network of airports, land and sea routes, including the maritime and air routes that link the Sultanate with Pakistan. He stated that the increase in the numbers of sea lines and air relations between the two countries depends on the growth of their mutual trade and economic relations. 
Senator Mir Kabir Ahmed Shahi, head of the Pakistani side of the Friendship committee between the State Council and the Senate of Pakistan, praised the Sultanate's comprehensive development in the road infrastructure, ports and airports.  He also highlighted the importance of mutual visits in promoting cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
The meeting was attended by Hon.Eng.Majid bin Said Al Rawahi, Head of the Omani side of the Omani-Pakistani Friendship Committee, Hon.Mahfoodh Hamood Mohamed Al- Wahaibi, Friendship committee member and H.E. Ali Jawed, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Sultanate of Oman.
 
H.E.Dr Mohammed bin Awadh Al Hassan, Acting Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) also received the Pakistani delegation.  The meeting underscored the depth of ties and the distinguished relations between them. The discussions focused on various aspects of cooperation between the two countries and means of enhancing these in all fields, as well as exchanging views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest.
The meeting was attended by Hon.Mahfoodh Hamood Mohamed Al- Wahaibi, Friendship committee member Sheikh Hilal Bin Marhoon Salim Al Maamri, Chief West Asia Department, MoFA of Oman and Ambassadors and H.E. Ali Jawed, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Sultanate of Oman.
 
The Pakistan Senate delegation paid a visit to the Industrial Innovation Center in the Rusail industrial area, where they were greeted by Suleiman bin Issa Al-Sulaimi, Director General of Administrative and Financial affairs at the center. Dr. Talal Bin Khamis Wahaibi, Director of Innovation briefed the delegation on the programs of the Center through a visual presentation based on industrial sectors and addressed the services provided by the center since its establishment in 2017  as well as the types of financial and intellectual support provided to citizens.  

The delegation also visited the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) and familiarized themselves with its role and position as one of the leading institutions in the field of art and culture in the Sultanate. They were briefed about its facilities and shows as well as its programmes and the latest equipment used in world music shows.
