First virtual meeting with start-up companies for telecommunications technology conducted

The working group at the State Council formed for dialogue with start-up companies in the various sectors conducted the first virtual meeting with a number of start-up companies working in the field of communications technology today.

 


Hon.Dr Maryam bint Abdullah bin Rajab Al Awadiyah, Committee Head and the honorable committee members along with a number of staff of the General Secretariat attended the virtual meeting. 

These meetings come within the framework of the work plan of the Technology and Innovation Committee at the Council to study the draft law on investment in technology and innovation, and in line with the states drive to achieve economic diversification with its various pillars, including the technology and communications sectors.

During the meeting, a number of axes related to the study came up for discussion, with the aim of being acquainted with the visions of these companies about the legislations in force related to the technology and communication sectors and a survey of national capabilities in innovation to develop the two sectors as key enablers to achieve economic diversification.

It is noteworthy that the Council has formed a special working group for dialogue with emerging companies in various sectors, believing in the importance of community participation with various relevant authorities to benefit from the product of their experiences and insights.
