Education and Research Committee hosts Secretary-General Education and delegation at the State Council

The Education and Research Committee of the State Council at its third meeting of the third annual session of the sixth period, chaired by Hon.Mr.Abdullah bin Mubarak Al-Shanfari, Head of the Committee held in the presence of Committee members, hosted H.E. Dr. Saeed bin Hamad al-Rubaie, Secretary-General Education and a number of officials of the Board of Education, as part of the Committees’ study of the role of education in supporting the knowledge-based economy.
 
The Committee discussed with the officials a number of axes on the extent to which the dimensions of the knowledge-based economy were included in the philosophy of education in the Sultanate, and indicators of the application the strategies, laws and legislations on education in the Sultanate and the challenges facing the application and the proposals needed to address them.
H.E.Dr. Saeed bin Hamad Al-Rubaie, Secretary General of the Board of Education and officials of the Board of Education, delivered a detailed presentation on strengthening the role of education in supporting the economy based on knowledge.
The presentation separated the goals and objectives of the National Education Strategy 2040, as well as the decisions and directives of the Board of education related to the economy based on knowledge, as well as  reviewed  the future directions of education supporting the knowledge economy, which includes support for the efforts and initiatives undertaken by various stakeholders in education to strengthen the role of education in the knowledge economy At the conclusion of the meeting of the Committee briefed on the update of the topics on its agenda and took appropriate decisions.
