Participants of the Sixth National Defense College Course received at State Council

On Sunday, the Chairman of the State Council, H.E.Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al-Manthri, received members of the Sixth National Defense Course, under the chairmanship of Major General Salim bin Musallam Qatan, Commandant of the National Defense College. He welcomed the efforts of the Sultan's armed forces and their role in the development and the modern Omani renaissance, and congratulated them on the success of Al Shamok 2 and Swift Sword 3 Exercise.
He also praised the six-year anniversary of the establishment of the National Defense Colleg. He praised the vital role played by the College in order to raise the level of scientific and knowledge of the leaders at various levels, in recognition of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said's keenness to develop Omani human resources in all sectors and levels to enhance the comprehensive development process witnessed by the Sultanate in all fields. Further, on, he added that the Council should play its role in the national work in accordance with its competences and powers, in full complementarity and coordination with the Majlis A’Shura. This is in keeping with the supreme support of the shura march, which is moving forward to achieve the desired objectives within the framework of the State Institutions, and Law established by His Majesty the Sultan. For his part, Major General Salim bin Muslim Qatar, commander of the National Defense College, said that the visit aims to identify the mechanism of work of the Council and its functions, stressing the vital role played by the Council in national action. He pointed out that the national defense course is a study program in the field of strategic studies to qualify national decision makers at the strategic level, and deals with all elements of the power of the state in different dimensions. The delegation viewed a film about the State Council and the Chairman of the Council answered the questions of the members of the Sixth National Defense Course The meeting was attended by the Hon.Sheikh Dr. Al Khatab bin Ghalib Al- Hinai, State Council Vice Chairman, a number of honorable members of the Council and the Secretary General of the Council.
