Officials from Ministry of Regional Municipalities & Water Resources hosted

The Social Committee of the State Council on Thursday held its fifth meeting of the third annual session of the sixth term; chaired by Hon.Dr.Hamad bin Sulaiman Al-Salmi, Head of the Committee in the presence of the honourable members of the Committee and staff of the secretariat.
The Committee hosted officials of the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water resources as part of its study on the protection of children from accidents.
The discussion focused on a number of topics related to the subject of the study, such as the factors that lead to accidents, the programmes available to protect children from accidents and their effectiveness, particularly in the areas of awareness raising and the reduction of factors that pose a threat to children.
It also discussed the coordination between different agencies to reduce child accidents, actions and proposals that may contribute to the reduction of accidents including the modernization of laws and legislation, the development of residential planning, and other procedures.
The delegation from the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, hosted by the Committee, included Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Baawain, Assistant Director-General for Technical Affairs, Eng.Abdul Rasul bin Sheeran Al Balushi, Director of the Department of Internal roads and Lighting,  Eng. Sakina bint Ahmed Al Khabouria, Chief of Technical affairs and Eng.Salim bin Ahmed Al Riyami, Architect.
