Bureau discusses the report on ‘Integrating the Standard of Living &Productivity’

The Bureau of the State Council held on Thursday, its tenth meeting of the fourth annual session of the sixth term of the Council, chaired by Hon.Sheikh Al Khattab bin Ghalib Al-Hinai,Vice Chairman of the Council, in the presence of the honorable Bureau members and the Secretary General of the Council.
The Bureau discussed the proposal of the Economic Committee on the ‘Study of the complementarity of the standard of living and productivity’. In this regard, it hosted Hon.Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Harthy and Hon.Dr. Said Bin Mubarak Al-Muharrami, Rapporteur of the Committee for conducting further discussions.
The proposal aims to analyse the indicators of the standard of living in the Sultanate, its objectives, the results of its performance, the extent and appropriateness of the productivity rates, its impact on the economic challenges and the solutions required.
It analysis the productivity indicators which determine the employment policy and recruitment, in order to diagnose the most important causes affecting them, and to identify the steps to be taken that positively affect the growth rates of productivity, value added, increased efficiency and effectiveness.
Also, it aims to set the parameters and regulatory and legislative measures to bring about integration and balance between increasing the level of productivity and aspirations to improve the standard of living.
Following discussions, the Bureau decided to present it at the next Regular Session of the Council.
Additionally, the Bureau reviewed the draft ‘State Council budget 2020’ and decided to present it at next Regular Session of the Council.
The Bureau noted the follow-up report on the decisions taken at its previous meeting, as well as the report on the activities of the committees during the period between the previous Bureau meeting and the present meeting.
Prior to conclusion, the Bureau determined the agenda items for the fourteenth and fifteenth sessions of the fourth annual session of the sixth period, to be held on one and two July 2019.
