Joint Bureau meeting discuss consensus mechanism

The Bureaus of the State Council and Majlis A’Shura held on Tuesday, the first joint meeting of the fourth annual session of the sixth period. The meeting was chaired by H.E Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Manthri, Chairman of the State Council, in the presence of Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of Majlis A’Shura, H.E.Dr Khalid bin Salim al Sa’eedi, Secretary General of the State Council and Sheikh Ali bin Nasser al Mahrouqi, Secretary General of Majlis A’Shura.
The meeting is part of the joint cooperation efforts between the two councils to follow correct practices, which contribute to the establishment of state institutions and law and in the context of coordination between them in support of their role in national action, in compliance with the royal directives of His Majesty the Sultan. It is a concerted effort to advance complementarity among State institutions to promote the overall development process. During the meeting, the Bureau of the two councils discussed the mechanism for reaching consensus on the articles of disagreement in the urgent draft laws. The provisions of the draft laws submitted by the Council of Oman and the Joint Committee on External participations were also reviewed. The Bureau of the two Councils were briefed about the first joint Meeting of the third annual session of the sixth period held on December 14, 2017.
