State Council and Majlis A’ Shura conclude their participation in the Muscat International Book Fair that received high turnout

The State Council and the Majlis A’Shura concluded their participation in the 25th edition of the Muscat International Book Fair, with the fall of the curtains on Monday, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center.


The two councils jointly participated in the exhibition, which opened on February 22nd under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Advisor to His Majesty the Sultan.

 

Their designated pavilion featured many exhibits that reflect the evolution of the Shura in the Sultanate and highlight the contribution of the two councils to national work.

 

His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Advisor to His Majesty the Sultan, visited the pavilion of the two councils in the presence of HE.Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh al-Manthri, State Council Chairman and a number of honorable members of the State Council and members of the Majlis A’Shura.

 

His Highness and the audience listened to an explanation about the displayed exhibits at the pavilion and the importance of the participation of the two councils in this prominent cultural event, which is the silver jubilee edition. The activities of its cultural event have focused on the personality of the late Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed bin Taimur.

 

The pavilion of the two councils witnessed a large turnout of visitors from various entities, institutions and members of the community, who were briefed about the featured exhibits that ranged from publications, documentaries and awareness pillars.

 

The supervisors of the pavilion provided the necessary explanations and responded to the visitors' inquiries about various aspects related to the work of the two councils.

 

The participation of the two councils in the Muscat International Book Fair aimed to contribute to the promotion of shura awareness, highlight the development stages of institutional practice of shura in Oman, introduce the role of the Council of Oman in national action through the exercise of its legislative and supervisory powers within the framework of the state of institutions and law and highlights the coordination between the State Council and Majlis A’ Shura, which enhances the performance of their duties and their participation in various societal activities.
