Oman-Jordan boost ties

The State Council Chairman, H.E. Dr Yahya Bin Mahfoudh al Manthri and several members received H.E. Nayef Al Hadid heading the Jordanian delegation .
The State Council Chairman noted the strong relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the keenness of the two countries to develop them under the directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein.
The Sultanate and Jordan have historical and deep-rooted relations and under their control many common factors that unite the two brotherly countries.
He stressed that there are broad prospects for enhancing the joint cooperation between the two countries in the economic, trade, parliamentary and other fields, in a manner that translates the strength of bilateral relations between them and serves their common interests.
He briefed the delegation on the course of development of the parliamentary experiment in the Sultanate, and the parliamentary bilateral, and reviewed the similarities between experiences in the Sultanate and Jordan.
He said that the visit of the delegation of the Jordanian Senate to the Sultanate comes within the framework of mutual visits between the two councils, stressing the important role played by the friendship committees in deepening relations between countries.
He added: The visit also represents an opportunity to exchange experiences in the field of parliamentary work, which helps in the development of mechanisms and maximize its outputs in both houses.
The Council Chairman expressed his hope that the visit will contribute to further strengthening the fields of cooperation between the two countries and expanding them in line with the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of joint cooperation between the two countries in a number of fields and stressed the role of mutual visits between the two councils in developing bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.
In this regard, noting the vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and his wise leadership which resulted in the comprehensive developmental renaissance witnessed by the Sultanate in all fields.
His Excellency stressed the uniqueness of Omani-Jordanian relations, praising the Sultanate's positions and efforts in supporting the stability of the region and enhancing peace and security.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Committee and the honored members of the Jordanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee of the State Council, HE the Secretary General of the Council of State and HE Zuhair Al Nsour, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Sultanate.
On the other hand, the Friendship Committee between the State Council and the Jordanian Senate held a session of official talks under the chairmanship of Hon. Mohammed bin Hamad Al Masrouri, head of the Omani side of the committee, and Hon.Nayef Al Hadid, head of the Jordanian side.
He stressed the continuous development of the Omani-Jordanian relations, pointing out the role of the committee in pushing these relations to a wider perspective in light of the common conviction of the need to continuously upgrade the fields of cooperation and expand the translation of the directives of the leaderships of the two brotherly countries.
HE Nayef Al-Hadid described the Jordanian-Omani relations as exemplary, solid and based on unity of purpose, direction and destiny. He pointed out the coordination between the two countries in all international forums and on all issues, pointing to the promising possibilities to enhance bilateral cooperation in many fields.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed aspects of cooperation between the two countries and means of enhancing them in all fields, especially in the fields of education, health and investment.
The delegation of the Jordanian side of the Omani-Jordanian Friendship Committee of the Jordanian Senate, headed by HE Nayef Al-Hadid, arrived in the country on Sunday morning for a two-day official visit to the Sultanate.
The delegation was received by Mohammed bin Hamad al-Masrouri, head of the Omani side of the committee, Sheikh Nasser bin Saeed al-Haddabi, member of the committee, and Dr. Bakheet bin Ahmed al-Muhri, member of the committee, the Jordanian ambassador to the Sultanate and a number of employees of the General Secretariat.
