State Council visit enriches students’ knowledge

Students from Aseela bint Qais School in Al Hail today got an insider’s view of the State Council’s premises during an educational visit.
State Council believes that students can expand upon their knowledge and understanding of politics and democracy with first-hand experience. It has an out-reach program dedicated to execute this belief. It enables engaging with students, answering their questions and raising awareness about how pivotal they are to the integrity of the nation’s democratic institutions and our future. Students from Aseela bint Qais School in Al Hail today visited the State Council’s premises for an educational tour. The presentation by Sultan Al Farsi, Section Head of Reports and working papers section of the General Secretariat for meetings and committees at the State Council detailed the tasks and responsibilities assigned to the Council. During the visit, the students were briefed on the "three powers" of the Council and the stages of the draft law processing , and the differences between the State Council and the Majlis Ash’shura, regarding the terms of reference, the membership of the members and its extent of vested powers, in addition to the stages and duration of the draft law. They also reviewed the organizational structure of the Council, its activities and achievements. At the end of their Council tour, Sultan answered the students’ queries.
