Czech Senate President extols the rich Omani heritage showcased by the National Museum

Jaroslav Kubera, President of the Senate of the Czech Republic and his delegation to the Sultanate visited the National Museum, accompanied by Hon.Salim bin Mohammed al Riyami, Council member.
The Museum, which is a prominent cultural monument, highlights the treasures of the Omani heritage by adopting the best practices and standards in the fields of museum science.
The museum officials briefed them regarding the archaeological collections, which deal with various aspects of life in the Sultanate over various historical stages.
The delegation viewed the technical equipment of the museum and its centre of learning, which is equipped to the highest international standards, and facilities for conservation and preventive maintenance and equipped laboratories, in addition to the ambitious program of conservation and preservation of archaeological holdings carried out by the museum.
Later in the day, the delegation visited
Souq Muttrah, the capital’s landmark traditional vibrant market, made up of a complex maze of narrow walkways leading to hundreds of small shops that sell everything from Omani khanjers, halwa, and frankincense to kummahs and spices.
