5. State Council Chairman receives seventh National Defense Course members

The State Council Chairman, HE.Dr.Yahya bin Mahfoudh al-Manthri  received on Monday the  members of the 7th National Defense Course, headed by  Major General Salim bin Musallam bin Ali Qatan, Commandant of the Omani National Defense College.
 
The Council Chairman noted the efforts of the Sultan's armed forces and their great work in serving the nation and safeguarding its security, achievements and gains, and creating a safe environment by ensuring its stability and prosperity.
 
He pointed out in this regard to the high attention accorded by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taymur - by strengthening the capabilities of the armed forces and providing all means that enable them to play their utmost  role in building of the Omani Renaissance.
 
HE.Dr.Yahya bin Mahfoudh al-Manthri said that His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said has confirmed the continuation of this interest and this noble patronage is in recognition of the role played by the Sultan’s armed forces in defending and protecting the homeland.
 
His Excellency affirmed the Council’s keenness to perform its role in the national work  in accordance with its competencies and powers in light of the supreme support to the Shura, and within the framework of the rule of law and institutions whose foundations were laid by late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taymur and now the same approach is followed by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.


For his part, Major General Salem bin Muslim bin Ali Qatan, the commandant of the National Defense College, said that the visit comes with the aim of being acquainted with the work of the Council and its facilities and equipment that help it to play its role in national work and contribute effectively to the development process.
 
He expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the Council to the College, noting in this regard the lectures presented by the State Council Chairman, the Secretary-General of the Council and the honorable members, in addition to organizing visits of Faculty to the Council.
 
HE.Dr.Yahya bin Mahfoudh al-Manthri dedicated to the Library of the Faculty of National Defense, the “Memory of the Council", which was recently launched by the Council on the occasion of its 20th anniversary, and includes full information on the activities and work of the Council.
 
At the end of their visit, the members of the seventh national defence course toured the council to learn about its main facilities.
 
The meeting was attended by the State Council members- Hon.Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed al Hassani, Hon.Salim bin Najim bin Said al Ghailani and Hon.Yaqoub bin Yousuf bin Abdullah al Kamshki.
