Oman, Bahrain keen on widening cooperation

Bahrain Council of Representatives' Council's Secretary-General and his accompanying delegation received today.
HE.Dr.Yahya Bin Mahfoudh Al Manthri, State Council Chairman received at the Council’s office, H.E.Abdullah bin Khalaf Al Dossari, Bahrain Council of Representatives' Council's Secretary-General and his accompanying delegation today. The talks were held in the presence of H.E.Dr.Khalid bin Salim Al Saeedi, Secretary-General of the State Council and Sheikh Ali bin Nasser Al Mahrouqi, Majlis Ash’shura Secretary General. They discussed the strong ties binding both countries and ways of boosting bilateral cooperation to achieve the aspirations of the two friendly peoples. They expressed satisfaction with the advanced level of Omani-Bahraini relations, underlining keenness on more cooperation in various fields. They also discussed regional and international developments, stressing the need to maintain global peace and security, to preserve regional stability and to fight terrorism. The talks touched on various cooperation aspects between the two brotherly countries, including bilateral relations and ways to enhance them. HE. Dr.Yahya Bin Mahfoudh Al Manthri hailed the brotherly Oman-Bahraini relations, with their historical and social dimensions. He highlighted the important role played by Gulf Parliaments in enhancing relations between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and pushing them to greater horizons, noting the importance of mutual visits in strengthening bilateral relations and deepening cooperation in all fields, especially parliamentary. These visits to achieve their desired goals. HE Dr.Yahya Bin Mahfoudh Al Manthri referred to the Shura march in the Sultanate and cooperation and coordination between the State Council and Majlis Ash’shura, to maximize their achievements. He expressed belief that the delegation’s visit to the Sultanate would lead to a further promotion and development of close bonds for the common interest of both sides. Meanwhile, HE.Abdullah bin Khalaf Al Dossari expressed his thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome and generous hospitality. He hailed the march of parliamentary action in the Sultanate and its achievements. He pointed out that there are many commonalities and points of convergence between the parliamentary experience in the Sultanate and Bahrain, which widens the opportunities for mutual benefit between them. HE.Abdullah bin Khalaf Al Dossari said that the mutual visits between the GCC Parliamentary Councils play a pivotal role in cementing the links between these councils through exchanging ideas and experiences related to the development of parliamentary work. He stressed the importance of joint coordination among GCC parliaments especially in the field of training, will benefit GCC parliamentary action.
