State Council Chairman receives CPPCC delegation, discusses promotion of closer ties

.E. Chen Xiaoguang, Vice-Chairman of the National Council of the Chinese People's Political Consultative conference and his accompanying, at the Council premises.
During the meeting, the State Council Chairman welcomed H.E. Chen Xiaoguang and noted the depth of the Omani-Chinese relations entrenched and deeply rooted in history. He acknowledged the strong cooperation in the fields of trade, which is an extension of the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and stressed on the importance of activating cooperation. The visit is a part of the 40th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two friendly countries.
He highlighted the importance of mutual visits and their role in strengthening parliamentary relations between the two countries, noting in this context the visit of the Secretary General of the Council to China earlier. The meeting also reviewed ways to develop cooperation between the Sultanate and the Republic of China in parliamentary fields.
They discussed ways to promote and develop multi-faceted relations that would deepen parliamentary and economic exchange between the two friendly countries during the visit of the Chinese delegation to the Council.

.E. Chen Xiaoguang, thanked the Council Chairman for the warm welcome and hospitality, and emphasized that increased cooperation between Oman and China through parliamentary councils, has led to the intensification of visits and the exchange of experiences.
He stressed the keenness of his country to consolidate existing relations with the Sultanate, by saying: "We look forward to further development and prosperity of the relations of cooperation between the two friendly countries in all fields to contribute to the achievement of their common interests.” He expressed his admiration for the comprehensive development under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the Sultanate's role in the maintenance of international peace and security.
He added that his country attaches special importance to the strengthening of economic cooperation relations with the Sultanate, noting in this context the high volume of trade between the two countries.
Further, on, he added that the Chinese industrial city in the DUQM region embodies China's desire and interest to enter into investment partnerships with the Sultanate.
Following the talks, the delegation viewed a documentary on State Council showing the stages of the development of the Shura march in the Sultanate and the contribution of the State Council to national action.
