Sultanate, Russia discuss durable relations

On Friday, State Council Chairman, H.E.Dr.Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al-Manthri and his delegation was received by Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Minister of foreign affairs of the Russian ministry of in Moscow as part of a visit to the Federal Republic of Russia.
 
During the conversation, the officials held an exchange of opinions with an emphasis on the strengthening and advancing mutual relations in varied areas.
 
They reviewed bilateral relations and aspects of cooperation between the two countries.
 
The Deputy Minister of foreign affairs appreciated the role of the sultanate in promoting regional stability and contributing to efforts to strengthen international peace and security. He referred to the promising prospects of cooperation between the two friendly countries in many areas, based on good relations. 
 
The State Council Chairman noted that  the bilateral relations  were  based on mutual respect and cooperation. He referred to the sustained pursuit of the sultanate and Russia to support constructive dialogue as an effective way to address regional and international issues.
 
State Council members Hon.Nada Hassan Mohammed Al Jamali, Hon.Dr. Ahmed Ali Mohammed Al Mashikhi, Hon.Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Harthy, Hon. Dr. Hasan Ali Mohammed Al Madhani and Hon. Dr. Badria Ibrahim Khalfan Al Shihi, Yousef bin Issa Al Zadjali, Sultanate’s Ambassador to Russia and the delegation of the Secretary-General of the council and the ambassador of the sultanate accredited to the Federal Republic of Russia attended the meeting. 
 
Earlier during the visit, the delegation had conducted meetings with Chairperson of Russian Federation Council, Valentina Ivanova Matvienko and Sergey Neverov, Vice-Chairman of State Duma. 
 
H.E.Dr.Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al-Manthri, State Council Chairman delivered a speech at the Federation Council, which highlighted the growth in Oman- Russia relations in multiple areas. 
 
The State Council delegation will return to the Sultanate on Saturday and will be received at the Muscat international airport by the Vice Chairman of the council, the Secretary-General and the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Russia accredited to the sultanate.
