Contribution of Dar Al Atta to the social security system reviewed

The Social Committee of the State Council today held its seventh meeting headed by Hon.Dr.Hamad bin Sulaiman bin Salim Al Salmi, Head of the Committee, in the presence of the honorable members of the Committee and the secretariat staff.
The Committee hosted Dr. Shamsa Bint Hamad Al Harthiya, Director General of Dar Al Atta Society to gain inputs to add value to its study on developing the social security system. Is purpose was also to collect information on the contribution of the Foundation and the Center to the social security system.
The meeting discussed the methodology of implementation of the social security system of the groups of the Association and the effectiveness in performance through optimal utilization of available resources, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, socio-economic impact analysis, to enable just distribution and the level of coordination of the Association and the integration of its roles with other parties.
The Committee also discussed with the Director General, the data and statistics regarding the current beneficiaries of the Society's assistance, their numbers based on the target groups of their work, the volume of annual assistance, the geographical distribution of the various governorates' quotas, the expectations of the growth of beneficiaries according to their categories and proposals for solutions.
The committee listened to the assessment of the performance of the total system of social security in the Sultanate from the point of view of the society and the most important weaknesses and strengths and development proposals.
It also tried to identify the future vision of the work of the Association and its view regarding the laws in force and the need for amendment or enact new legislation with a view to actively participate in the development of the system Social Security in the Sultanate.
