Institute of Public Administration conducts program to spotlight on employee skill development

The Institute of Public Administration launched a new program that spotlighted on Skills development of government employees.
The Institute of Public Administration launched a new program that spotlighted on Skills development of government employees at the Council of Oman, in the presence of the Assistant Secretaries-General of the State Council today. The employees of the State Council and Majlis Ash’shura attended the lectures. The program is part of the government’s efforts aimed at developing and improving the working skills of employees and includes delivery of lectures and conduct of interactive sessions. Dr. Wasfi Al-Rousan and Mr. Ahmed Al-Ra'i presented the lectures. It focused on the developmental needs of the employees of different departments and included modern concepts, institutional competence and models of global proficiency to enhance proficiency in government institutions. The lecture also touched on the application of the model and standards of proficiency in government institutions through the “EFQM” model. The lectures targeted the administrative apparatus of the Sultanate, related to ministries and government sectors, institutions, bodies and councils and intends to promote development trends in performance. It also allowed exchange of experiences to relate as success stories in the best practices of different persons, to raise awareness of concepts of performance management, strategic thinking among the participants and create a culture of proficiency in accordance with the best international standards. The lecture promoted how to enhance efficiency in government performance by building knowledge and advocated effective solutions to shift from traditional management methods to modern methods by adopting global methodologies.
