BILATERAL COOPERATION: Major Focus of talks between State Council Chairman and Czech Senate President

H.E Dr.Yahya Bin Mahfoudh Al Manthri received Jaroslav Kubera, President of the Senate of the Czech Republic today, on the sidelines of the visit of the President and his delegation to the Sultanate.  
 
The State Council Chairman welcomed the guests and expressed his hope that the visit would achieve its desired objectives in enhancing the existing relations between the two friendly countries and contribute to the expansion of new areas of cooperation. He highlighted the role of the Council of Oman in national action through its powers and competences stipulated in the Basic Law of the State.
President Jaroslav Kiera appreciated the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation and highlighted the potential of further strengthening of cooperation.
 
State Council and Senate of the Czech Republic talks outline joint objectives
Subsequent to one-to-one discussion and viewing of the documentary based on State Council, delegation-level talks were held.  The Omani side was headed by H.E Dr.Yahya Bin Mahfoudh Al Manthri   and the Czech side by Jaroslav Kubera.
The discussion agenda included relevant topics including deepening of bilateral relations, expansion of economic cooperation, including investments.
The State Council Chairman termed his visit to the Czech Republic last April a success and said that he was optimistic that the present visit would build on the development in relations and contribute to the expansion of areas of cooperation. He added further that the results of the visit were promising and this is evident from the signing of a number of agreements in the areas of tax exemption, promotion and protection of investment and air transport.
 
The two sides highlighted the desire to activate the memorandum of understanding signed to develop cooperation between them and to realize the aspirations of Omani and Czech businesspersons to hold joint exhibitions to promote investment opportunities and incentives for investors in both countries.

 
The Czech Senate President expressed his conviction that bilateral cooperation can be extended to include economic, trade, scientific, health, renewable energy and the environment, in addition to parliamentary cooperation. He stressed the importance of opening an embassy to his country in the Sultanate and it would help to consolidate bilateral relations between the two countries.

 
Jaroslav Kubera hailed the role of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, in preserving regional security and stability through his exemplary vision.  
Present at the talks  from the Omani side were the Vice Chairmen, the Council Secretary General, several honorable Council members and the Czech delegation with the Czech Republic Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary.
 
Photo Exhibition opened
A photo exhibition was opened to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Czech Republic. President Jaroslav Kubera in the presence of the Council Chairman, the Council Vice Chairmen, the Secretary Gemaral of the Council and the Czech delegation, opened the exhibition.
 
Sultanate and Czech Republic ink pact to boost air transport services
 In the presence of the State Council Chairman and the President of the Czech Senate, Air transport agreement was inked to strengthen air transport services. The signatories were HE Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Al- Zaabi - CEO of Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA) from Oman and H.E.Juraj Koudelka, Czech Republic Czech non-resident Ambassador to the Sultanate.


The agreement will facilitate development of full open skies relation between the countries in the near future and strengthen economic ties.
The agreement allows national carriers of the Sultanate (Oman Air and SalamAir) to extend their operational networks to the Czech Republic, attract Czech airlines to operate direct flights to the Sultanate, or exchange code-shares with other carriers. The agreement allows the airlines of the two countries to establish cooperation relations to exchange code-shares with the carriers of one of the two countries and with the carriers of any other country.
The agreement contains (26) articles for the regulation of technical and operational matters in addition to a special annex to the air routes between the two countries.
The Sultanate is currently linked with similar bilateral agreements in the field of regulating air transport services with more than 100 countries to regulate the operation of airlines between the Sultanate and those countries. PACA seeks to increase the rights of air transport between the Sultanate and various countries around the world.
 
Visit to ROHM
The delegation accompanied by Hon.Salim bin Mohammed al Riyami, member of the State Council, also visited the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM). During the visit, the guests was briefed on the house, its facilities and shows as well as its programs and the latest equipment used in world music shows.
