01 May 2019

The Legal Committee of the State Council on Wednesday discussed the report of the Sub-Committee tasked to study ‘Proposed Land Law proposal’ as part of the Committee's proposal within the framework of the Committee's proposal on ‘Study and review of land laws in the Sultanate’. The Committee members and the Secretariat staff attended the thirteenth meeting of the Committee; headed by Hon.Abdul Qadir bin Salim Al Dhahab, Head of the Committee.
The Committee also noted the follow-up report on the implementation of the decisions taken at its previous meetings, as well as reviewed its agenda and performed a follow-up of the decisions taken. The study and review of land laws in the Sultanate aims to identify the legislative challenges facing its land sector and suggest ways to address them either by making some modifications to the development of the land system or study the appropriateness of proposing a Law that includes the main provisions and regulates the procedures relating to the system of entitlement, ownership and use of land in all residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and touristic uses.
