Extended Economic Committee of the State Council discusses draft State’s General Budget for the fiscal year 2019

The Expanded Economic Committee (EEC) at the State Council discussed today, the draft State’s General Budget for the fiscal year 2019 and the report of Majlis A’Shura on it and after concluding the discussions decided to present the report on it to the Bureau of the State Council.
The Expanded Economic Committee, composed of the honorable members of the Economic Committee and the heads of the Standing Committees of the Council, headed by Hon.Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Harthy, Head of the Economic Committee discussed the criteria’s and aspects associated with the draft State’s General Budget for the fiscal year 2019.
These include public revenues and objects of expenditure, which are based on a range of economic and financial aspects along with the analysis of statistics on the financial position of the Sultanate for the year 2019.
The Committee will submit its views on the draft budget to the Bureau of the Council in preparation for submission to the Council at its next Regular Session.
The transfer of the draft State’s General Budget for the fiscal year 2019 to the State Council is in accordance with the provisions of Article 58 (bis 40) , which advocates that drafts of development plans and the state annual budget shall be referred by the Council of Ministers to the Majlis A’Shura for debate and recommendation within a maximum period of one month from the referral date and then the same shall be referred to Majlis Addawla for debate and recommendation within a period of 15 days from the referral date. The Chairman of the State Council shall return the same along with the recommendations of the two Councils to the Council of Ministers.
