Culture, Media and Tourism Com. discusses the draft study “The Arabic language complex”

The sub-Committee of the Committee of Culture, Information and Tourism at the State Council tasked with the charge of the study “The Arabic language complex " , on Sunday  hosted Dr. Mohammed bin Fawzi Al- Mariati , an expert with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and member of the Arabic language complex in Damascus, to  discuss several topics related to the draft of the study.
 
The meeting, headed by Hon. Dr. Ismail Saleh Hamdan  Al Aghbari, Head of the committee was held in the presence of the committee members.
The study aims to consolidate Oman’s role in the field of Arabic language as a global reference, specialized to maintain the integrity of the Arabic language, make it compatible with the requirements of science and the arts, find a linguistic reference in the Sultanate to update the terminology, monitor and correct common language errors and in addition connect the younger generation with the authentic Arabic language.
