Education and Research Com. gets acquainted with the efforts of Duqm to support scientific research

The Education and Research Committee of the State Council held on Wednesday, its seventh meeting of the first  annual session of the seventh term, chaired by Hon.Dr Hamad bin Sulaiman bin Salim Al Salmi, Deputy Head of Committee, in the presence of the honorable members of the committee and a number of employees of the General Secretariat
The committee hosted at the meeting, Khamis bin Juma al Balushi, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Special Economic Zone Authority in Duqm, as part of the committee's study on "The reality of scientific research and the role of private sector companies in supporting and developing it."  
 
The Committee discussed with Khamis bin Juma al-Balushi, several topics relating to its study, and they included: the role of the government and its companies in supporting scientific research, national research competencies and its ability to conduct qualitative research, and the contribution of the private sector in supporting scientific research, proposals and mechanisms to assist in the development of the scientific research support system.
 
The study aims to identify the reality of the local, regional and global policies and legislations that regulate the process of the private sector's contribution to scientific research and raise its efficiency, identify the contribution of the private sector and international companies working in Oman in scientific research and propose legislation and mechanisms Organize sit-ins and help localize technical expertise.
