Social Committee reviews programs of MOSD for the care of the elderly

The Social Committee of the State Council hosted several officials of Ministry of Social Development (MOSD) on Wednesday, as part of the committee's study theme “The reality of elderly care in the Sultanate."
The eighth meeting of the Social Committee, headed by Hon.Ahmed bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Habshi al Amri, Committee Head, was held, in the presence of the honorable committee members and several employees of the General Secretariat.
The committee discussed with officials of the Ministry of Social Development various topics, which included : services provided by the ministry to the elderly, the challenges facing the ministry in order in providing these services, plans and the future programs to upgrade them, and the ministry's views on legislation and laws related to the protection and care of this age group in addition to reviewing international and Gulf experiences in this field.
The meeting hosted: Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Humaidi Al Saadi, Director General of the Directorate of Social Welfare, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Mahrouqi, Director General of the Directorate General of Planning and Studies, Mohammed Bin Hamid al-Kalbani, Director General of Social Development in Ibri and Hamad Bin Salem Al-Tobi, Director of the Department of Elderly Affairs, Naima Bint Hamid Al-Balushia, Director of the Department of Social Studies and Indicators at the Directorate of Planning and Saif bin Nasser al-Saadi, Social studies expert at the Directorate of Planning .
