The meeting was headed by Hon.Walli bin Nasser bin A’mer Al Shukaili, Deputy Head of Committee, in the presence of the honorable members of the committee and several secretariat staff, with the team concerned with the feasibility of investing in combating non-communicable diseases in Oman.
They discussed the extent of the burden posed by the increase in non-communicable diseases, which are a major concern, accounting for 72 percent of all deaths in Oman.
It is worth mentioning that the team's schedule of visits constitutes a series of meetings with relevant authorities in the health sector and other related sectors because of the important role these sectors play in the inclusion of interventions and policies that protect individuals from non-communicable diseases and limit their spread.
